This image, taken in May 1957, shows the relief efforts of the Red Cross, following the Suez Crisis. Port Said, where this photograph was taken, was one of two main areas subject to bombing by British and French forces. Only after UN peacekeepers entered the area in late 1956, could widespread relief be given to the affected population.
