He began his classical studies in 1852 and was ordained priest In 1876. Fathers Dion’s whole life would be dedicated to God and his community. In 1892 Father Dion was elected Procurator General to the Holy See in Rome, Italy. He would now have a very complex and high profile job overseeing financial affairs and having administrative powers. During this time, it was noted in Father Dions journals that he loved the culture and lifestyle of Rome. While overseas he found out he wanted to supplement his involvement even more. In that, Father Dion began engaging in a ministry of nuns in France by writing for a local magazine weekly. In 1896 Father Dion’s time in Rome was done and he was sent back to Quebec in urgency.
