Biographical Text

Mme Hébert, married to Guillaume Couillard de Lespinay, was a born into a wealthy, Christian, French family. Born in Paris, France in 1606, she moved to Quebec and settled down. Mme Hébert was one of few French women who remained in Quebec after it was captured by the English. She lived in Quebec until her passing in 1684.
