Travelled to Québec in 1675 with 5 other Recollet missionaries at the behest of Louis XIV. From there, Hennepin travelled throughout Quebec and preaching the gospel and for a time took a position in Lake Ontario. In 1678, Hennepin returned to Quebec to take on a full time position, but shortly after was asked by his superior to join an exploration group and continue to disseminate the gospel. Travelled to Québec in 1675 with 5 other Recollet missionaries at the behest of Louis XIV. From there, Hennepin travelled throughout Quebec and preaching the gospel and for a time took a position in Lake Ontario.
