Title

Ethelbert Bartholomew Photograpgh

Description

This Photograph shows Ethelbert Bartholomew, a Trinidadian medical student who was kicked out of Queen's University in 1918 because of a racist ban against Black medical students. Unable to continue his studies he became a railway porter in Montreal. This shows how many Black Canadians were unable to reach their full potential due to racist constraints put on them by society despite their clear competence.
