The Photo shows four Black railway porters Shirley Jackson, Pete Stevens, Harry Gairey, and Jimmy Downes, standing beside a train. Jackson and Gairey were leaders in organizing the BSCP, which was the first Black union in Canada to win a contract with a white employer.
