This printed ex-libris, attached to the “von Ende” family of Altjessnitz, Germany, appears on the interior pastedown of this book. It serves to remind us that the ex-libris was also considered an art form during certain eras for bibliophiles, who collected just these with a passion. The vignette format as seen in this example appeared in Nuremberg, Germany, at the beginning of the 16th century. Even today there are as- sociations of collectors who indulge their passion for this tiny works of art at sometimes premium prices.
