Performance instructions: "A Chamber Opera/Ballet in Four Scenes." 2006 score: orchestra including flute; oboe; bass clarinet in B flat; percussion (25 inch and 32 inch timpani, cymbals, tamtam, chimes, and marimba); harp; piano; violin 1; violin 2; viola; cello and singing roles including Laura (soprano), Lizzie (mezzo-soprano), Chorus of maids and goblins (sopranos 1, sopranos 2, altos, tenors, basses). 2014 revised score: smaller instrumental ensemble including flute, oboe, bassoon, harp, and string quartet and singing roles including Laura (soprano), Lizzie (soprano), First Maid (soprano), Second Maid (mezzo-soprano), First Goblin (tenor), and Second Goblin (baritone).
