Notes
An item's catalogue entry may include information about alternate versions of the same musical setting. Such versions can have different voicing, instrumentation, key, or translated text; different arrangements by the original composer are listed as versions of the catalogued setting. A separate entry is created for a setting that is a new arrangement of a previously existing Christina Rossetti setting, for example, different arrangements of Holst’s “In the Bleak Mid-winter.” Some musical compositions contain text from multiple Rossetti poems or text of poems by Rossetti as well as other authors. When more than one Rossetti poem is used in the same musical composition (for example, a song, a song cycle, an oratorio, and opera, etc.), we have created an entry for each of the Rossetti poems used. In each of these entries from the same larger work, links are provided to the other settings within that composition.
The Christina Rossetti in Music website includes all scores that we have located, and that are in the public domain, or that we have been granted permission to share. If you are aware of a setting or can locate a score that we lack, or if you own rights to a score that you are willing to share on our website, please contact us at crmusic@uottawa.ca. All known settings are catalogued and the metadata is included, even if we do not have a score.
