Performance history: Performed at the National Portrait Gallery on February 4th, 1995 by Arion, soprano Andrée Back and harpist Brian Davis, as part of a recital of settings of poems by Christina Rossetti called "Sing no sad songs for me" ("Sing no sad songs for me").
