Notes: The setting is printed below a biblical epigraph: "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth" (John 3:8). From a collection called "Songs For Little People: For Use in the Sunday-School, the Kindergarten, and the Home," first published in 1905. The collection includes an introduction by Lucy Wheelock and a foreword by editors Frances Weld Danielson and Grace Wilbur Conant. A new edition of the collection was published 10 years later, which included the addition of thirty-six new and old songs.
