Description

Tempo markings: half note = 1 beat.
Performance instructions: "Thoughtfully." "Use only the second stanza with smaller children, or let them sing the melody on 'oo' to suggest the wind. A few children can be trees,' others, running by on tiptoe or without shoes, can be the 'wind.'" This paragraph is followed by an illustration by Karla Kuskin of three trees blowing in the wind.
Notes: Melody from "Zion's Harp". Ninety third song in the collection "Sing for Joy: A Songbook for Young Children" by Norman and Margaret Mealy published by Seabury Press in 1961, illustrated by Karla Kuskin.
