BAKLEN points out the increasingly difficult situation of the French colony in Athens. Five residents, married to Greeks, were taken by the M.L.A.S., but BAKLEN managed to get two released. Others keep arriving in the so-called security zone, having lost all their possessions. Since he cannot get funds (the banks being closed) he asks for gold to be flown in as soon as possible to take care of additional expenses.
