The first part of this telegram is unreadable. The rest, whose text is somewhat corrupt, is in part a recapitulation of previously published telegrams.
1. According to BONNET, the Americans consider it a natural and normal step to ask France to participate in the preliminary discussions on trusteeship before the San Francisco conference.
2. The consultation will take place through ordinary diplomatic channels, not by means of a specially appointed committee. (Cf. FG-5814)
3. CATHOLIX is asked to tell the Soviet Commission of Foreign Affairs that France would be delighted to accept an invitation if it were offered. (Cf. FG-5788- par.II)
