- (2) The Cambodian section is not a new road, but a building of the existing road or a replacing of the laterite paving by hard material paving.
| Banking Paving | 15,000 Plasters |

| | 7,000 Plasters |
| Construction work - Any indication would be meaningless. | |
# PART 2
## 2. Central Highway.
(1) Cochin-China section: paving work only has been carried on during 1944, at the rate of 20,000 Plasters per kilometer, over 30 kilometers. The figure is very high inasmuch as the section is in the most remote part of the country, far from any quarry, with very expensive transportation. (2) Cambodia section:
| Banking Paving | 18,200 Plasters |
| --- | --- |
| | 7,000 Plasters |
| (Travine?) road, with no important construction work | |
| excepting HMPOK® cross-overs, executed some time ago. | |
(3) Laos section:
| Banking Paving | 22,000 Plasters |
| --- | --- |
| | 10,000 Plasters |
Unlike Cambodia, this section has very considerable construction work, amounting to 30,000 Plasters per kilometer, making a total cost of 80,000 Plasters per kilometer.
III. My telegrams no 1334-1343 of 23 July, 1943 described the project for clearing the water at SEPT PAGODES and the outer harbor in Malong Bay. I present below the state of advancement of the work.
1. The Sept Pagodes project: (1) The dike construction is finished. (2) Diversion. Upper part being dug by hand: --0--. Lower part being dredged out: 600,926. --20-- by* --6--, 1,900,000 (Youbici) meters. All this work has been delayed because of difficulties of a mechanical nature which are especially hard to surmount at present.
The SONG KIMM THAY dam: research is very far advanced. (continued)
