Message No. 280.
An examination of the accounts of Stanislas College having to do with the establishment of the new college show a deficit of $20,000 over and above the $200,000 provided, --- ---. In view of this situation the council has sent me a letter signed by (Lemoine ?) with the approval of Senator Dandurand and addressed to Canon Mejaceze, urgently requesting the subventions of --- for 1939 and 1940, promised as a reserve (as referred to in your telegram No. ---). They believe that these reserves (could be used ?) for the upkeep of the staff and the payment of their fares to Montreal which is essential to-day.
I would urgently ask for a reply so that it may be possible to come to a decision by August 14 concerning the hiring of professors for the college.
RISTELHUEBER.
