In a diffuse radio discourse given on Saturday evening (October 18), the Prime Minister announced that in a month's time there would come into effect a number of measures designed to control the prices of commodities, made necessary by the war situation.
One of the local papers describes it as "the first time economy has been controlled in America" without saying that it is merely "totalitarian" economy.
The one evil which it is designed to avoid is the rising scale of prices and wages. All walks of life will have a share in Canada's war effort in Europe writes ---.
