Referring to my telegram No. 420. x
The two following letters have reached
me yesterday and today:

1) The gift of a sum of money from France
has decided the (municipality ?) of Outremont to
give the land, on which construction is going on,
to Stanislas College. They have done this so as
to avoid painful publicity over their financial
difficulties.

2) The accounts for the construction of
the college have to be paid before the end of
December. The sums involved are too large to
request from the Provincial of Quebec, who has
already made a third contribution. If the French
Government is specifically committed to sending a
