Youth

Métis youth are represented in Métis governments. Most Métis provincial governments include a youth representative. For example, the Métis Nation of Ontario, has a Youth Council comprised of representatives elected in each of the province’s 9 regions, in addition to a youth representative (along with a post-secondary representative) on its provincial council. These representatives, elected by Métis youth in Ontario aged 16-29, play an active role in various MNO events and activities. At this time, the MMF and the MNA do not have a youth representatives on their provincial councils, but are exploring ways to integrate youth in decision-making.
