Title

Keystone Cemetery Plaques

Description

Gwen Hooks was part of the restoration of the Keystone Cemetery. She dedicated a significant part of her life to her heritage. She did not want the legacy that Black settlers left in Keystone to be forgotten, so she made sure that where they were buried would be preserved and that a plaque would be placed so that everyone could see who was buried there. She realised how important Black settlers were in the history of Alberta, and her efforts on the Keystone cemetery did not go unnoticed.
