Title

The Nova Scotia Gleaner P2-3

Description

Pages 2-3 of the Nova Scotia Gleaner, a newspaper published monthly in Sydney, N.S. and edited by F.A. Hamilton. Pages 2-3 are an article named "New Waterford Notes - New Hall Opened." The article talks about the opening of the New Waterford UNIA hall on Sept 1st, 1929. The meeting was joined by people from Sydney and Glace Bay, some making speeches and others singing or playing music. This is proof of another UNIA opening in Cape Breton and with many members of other UNIA branches coming to support it shows the unity that the UNIA created for Black people from town to town in Cape Breton.
