Title

The Keystone Legacy: Recollections Of A Black Settler By Gwen Hooks

Description

This book talks about the journey of many African Americans who came primarily from Oklahoma to Alberta, specifically to the Keystone/Breton area. The African Americans created a new community together, and they relied on each other for almost everything. People, like Gwen Hooks, have their identities rooted in the Black communities where they grew up. For Gwen Hooks, her childhood in Keystone/Breton impacted her throughout her whole life, so she was determined that no one would forget about these communities, one of the reasons she wrote a book, and helped in other ways to preserve the Keystone Legacy.
