Cheryl Foggo's life has been completely shaped by the life she grew up in and the decisions that have been made by the people before her. She uses her book and her story to emphasize the importance of the decisions of the people who came before her and how they shape the world we live in. The Black Canadians have been and still are a crucial part of the Canadian Prairies, although it seems that people forget that they have been there for as long as everybody else.
