Mildred Jane Lewis Ware And Family

Title

Mildred Jane Lewis Ware And Family

Description

Mildred Jane is often a forgotten part of the Ware family, and yet she was a very important one. Her husband, John Ware, is the famous Black cowboy from the Canadian Prairies, but he could not have been as successful without his wife. It was because of her middle-class upbringing in Ontario that she learned to read and write. She was also a teacher for a time, and her education was instrumental in the running of the Ware ranch. She did all the bookkeeping and correspondence for the Ware ranch. If she had not been brought to the Canadian Prairies by her father she may have never met John Ware and he may not have become the famous figure that he is today.
