These items are the cover image and a clip from Older Stronger and Wiser by Claire Prieto. Like Roger McTair she is one of the oldest names in the industry. This piece is about the older Black women of Canada, and it shares their stories and historical narrative of being a Black woman growing up in Canada. It tells their experiences with racism, community, discrimination, and more. This piece was a work Claire Prieto is very well known for. It is also presented by the NFB which she was a part of through being a woman in their official Women’s Program at the National Film board. The significance of this piece is that it is not only created by a Black Canadian artist, but it is created by Black women about Black women. This documentary gives a voice to those who were especially oppressed and silenced in the past, as well as expresses the stories of those who were never told. The title card reading "Older stronger wiser" reads more than expected, because it shares the truth behind the story that their age has really allowed them to experience every section of life and become wiser.
