Black Canadian-American composer, organist, pianist, choral director, and music professor Robert Nathaniel Dett's "In the Bottoms", is subtitled "Suite caractéristique". The suite for piano has five movements:

4. Barcarolle (Morning)
5. Dance (Juba)
The fifth movement of "In the Bottoms" is one of his most played works.
