The Original Soundscape: Notating Water in Schafer's String Quartet No. 2, "Waves"
In this exhibition we situate R Murray Schafer's String Quartet No. 2 "Waves" as a key work which showcases his lifelong interest in the marine soundscape while highlighting the compositional and notational choices which communicate the ocean's voice through music.
