The day was well spent hammering + sawing away at my building. Last night there was the first heavy white [____]. In the evening G. A. Bayne [d. L. J] of the C.P.R. came in, I had met him years ago in Winnipeg. We chatted of our Hudson Bay trips, he had been to H. Churchill making an exploratory trip in ’83 for a projected railway that still slumbers and will do so for many years to come.
