Located on Elgin Street in Ottawa, Perfect Books has a wide range of children’s texts which feature diversity. At this independent bookstore, the children’s literature shelf offers picturebooks that encourage activism through both text and illustrations.
The purpose of our exhibit is to present our examinations of diversity in the children’s literature section at Perfect Books through the process of sample analysis. Amongst our samples, we deem Alison Green’s Kind, Matthew A. Cherry’s Hair Love and Cindy Wume's The Bookshop Cat to be honourable mentions in representing diversity.
