I want to thank the thirteen participants who generously donated their time and answered my questions over the short life of this project. Their answers were thoughtful, and I was continually impressed by their dedication to the seed libraries. With limited institutional support, financial resources, and staff time, most continue to offer seeds to patrons every year without ever knowing what happens to seeds. For many librarians and seed keepers, the belief that the seed library brings value or joy to students, staff, faculty and community members was enough to justify the time they invested in the seed library. I was inspired by this passion and excitement for growing.
I also want to extend endless gratitude to the project supervisor, Dr. Jada Watson. Her encouragement, support, guidance and knowledge made this into a research project that I was excited to undertake. Learning from her was a gift.
Seed people are good people.
