REVISION
Referring to telegram #362 of the Consul General at
Shanghai.
Questioned by Chinese reporters as to the date
anticipated for abolition of extraterritorial rights by the
hipponeses authorities, the Japanese Ambassador replied:
"The principle of abolition is settled in theory.
Japan is studying the problem increasingly, and has already
begun to abrogate her rights. Fiscal rights formed a part of
them; the two --22-- the present possibility of a complete
suppression of the rights of extraterritoriality. For the
present it is not possible to state when the question will be
settled."
