The Ministry for Finance consents to the redemption of the 1945 crop of black tea up to a maximum of 800 tons, of which 600 are from the Moi Plateau. We are discussing the price which will be fixed on a basis of the Moi Plateau, probably somewhere between 37 and 40 francs, the 37-franc price being the first offer of the Ministry for Finance. In case communications are suspended, please note the above statements.

ASSURANCES DE GUERRE is prepared to settle for the damages to the TAIPOOSEE, but on a bill or an estimate counter-signed by an expert. Please cable the total amount of the bill or the estimate, thus endorsed, the portion of the repair work which is old or new (for determining the deduction?), and the date the ship was built. The settlement will be effective upon receipt of the telegraphic reply, but it will be considered definite only after the remittance of one of the vouchers. Please cable your agreement on this point.
