In view of these facts, Mr. Paul MURAND, the French Ambassador to Berne, informed the Federal Politique department that he considered his mission to have ended. He asked the agents of the Embassy and of the Consulates to remain at their posts to ensure the safeguarding of French interests.
Mr. STUCKI, Swiss Minister to Vichy, has been recalled by his government.
Although I consider myself to have resigned, I shall assume temporarily, upon the request of the heads of the French services and by agreement with the Federal authorities, the direction of the administrative services of the Embassy.
