Biography

I am Joshua Jaramillo, the creator of this exhibit page and a History student at the University of Ottawa. I first met Ma’afu in the 9th grade in middle school band class, and over the years have gotten the privilege of seeing him blossom into a wonderful up and coming jazz musician. He currently resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, and can frequently be found performing at Frankie’s Jazz Jazz Club among other venues. His insight into the Vancouver jazz scene in addition to his diverse family lineage provides a unique and valuable oral history.
