**No Number.**
It does not seem in any case that it has been a question of any sort of insistence or injunction of the Germans, and it is probable that the concentration camps they are preparing in Catalonia and Navarre are (Yasylums?) intended to provide for the influx of fugitives which a future landing in Southern France would cause.
In military circles and (Yelsewhere?) members of the families of the German Embassy tell me, people believe that this landing is not far off.
This would seem to be a continuation of SSA/130862.
**From:** Madrid

**PAD No. 409-410**
Mr. PIETRI considers plans for expatriated students and how to avoid difficulties if the Spanish-French frontier is definitely closed. Cardinal MERDIER* asks the University of Toulouse to send him the subjects for certificates in philology and practical Spanish, and the University of Aix, for literature and Italian. These should be sent by wire and all measures should be attended to as rapidly as possible.
