Description

Obverse legend: MAXIMIANVS NOB(ilissimus) CAES(ar), translation: Most Noble Caesar Maximianus. Pearl-diademed bust right of Galerius (also known as Maximianus), with parallel wreath ties of different lengths, and the longer tie trailing right. Reverse legend: SACRA MONET(a) AVGG(=Augustorum) ET CAESS(=Caesarum) NOSTR(orum), translation: The sacred money of our Augusti and of our Caesars. Moneta diademed and draped, standing facing, head left, holding scales in right hand and cornucopia in left; star in left field; Γ in right field; mint mark *SIS in exergue. RIC VI, p.469, no. 137b.
