Description
Obverse legend: IMP(erator) C(aesar) C(aius) VAL(erius) DIOCLETIANVS P(ius) F(elix) AVG(ustus), translation: Imperator Caesar Gaius Valerius Diocletian the dutiful and successful Augustus; radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Diocletian facing right. Reverse legend: IOVI CONSERVATORI AVGG(=Augustorum), translation: To Jupiter, protector of the two Augusti; Diocletian, standing on the left, holding sceptre and receiving Victory on globe from Jupiter, standing on the right, holding sceptre; mint mark in exergue: B/XXI. Odd shaped flan. There is a slight die break on the left of the reverse at the letters AU. RIC V.II, p.257, no.329.
