Description
A marble tondo (or patera) of the Greek goddess Hygieia. The background is round with a beaded border, with a bust of the goddess in the center wearing a cloak and chiton buttoned at her right shoulder, holding a scallop shell in her left hand which contains a serpent. Her hair is surmounted by a laurel wreath. The bowl has four holes on bottom of the rim, and the back side is rounded and rough.
