Hamlet and the Unpledged Ghost

     Without much available information, the subjects of this piece remain a mystery. Although, it is clear that Bengough utilized the tropes of Shakespearean ghosts to represent his subjects as ailed by political figures or factors in response to actions. Here, we have the ghost holding a candle which is fuming the word 'Ontario' in the form of a question mark.
