This display features the playful side of Shakespeare’s influence on Canadian artists. This virtual exhibition is a small excerpt of the materials on display - to visit the full cabinet, visit the 3rd floor hallway of the Desmarais building.

The curators wish to acknowledge the generous assistance from Catriona Leger who is the co-artistic director of Ottawa's fantastic theatre group A Company of Fools. We are fortunate to have been loaned props, costumes and photos from the history of this amazing ensemble. The group is particularly known for their engaging and amusing 90-minute adaptation of Shakespeare plays and hosts an annual Torchlight Shakespeare in the Park Series. Check out the exhibit in Desmarais and be sure to catch a play or two this summer!
