Macbeth Hath Murdered the Manitoba Charters

This represents John A. Macdonald as the executioner of the Manitoba Charter due to the influence of the Syndicate, the group that was in control of the CPR project. Manitoba did not support the monopoly and in the midst of their revolt, they applied for railway charters. In 1882, however, John A. federally disallowed Manitoba railway charters in order to continue the progression of the CPR project with the Syndicate. This can refer to the relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth with the latter possessing more authority. Her size is enhanced because she is represented as the bigger power, just as the Syndicate has more of a control over the matter than John A. appears to.
