Who was it collected by?

This Solar Compass was acquired by a Mrs. Mary Grey, a curator at the National Science and Technology Museum (now Canada Science and Technology Museum) in Ottawa. She purchased them from EMR Surveys and Mapping Branch in Ottawa. She was an engineer who had once worked at the Dominion Observatory; she had also been the head of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada for a period of time.
